Ingredients
1) 2 lbs. beef brisket, cut into chunks
2) 3 cloves garlic
2) 3 slice ginger
3) 1½ tbsp. chu hou sauce
3) 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
3) 1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
3) 1 tbsp. rock sugar
4) 2 tbsp. cooking wine
4) 2 star anise
4) 1 dried orange peel
4) 1 bay leaf
4) ½ tbsp. dark soy sauce
5) 2 cups water

Blanch beef (1) in boiling water for 8 minutes, rinse with cold water, set aside.

Heat 1 tbsp. oil in wok, cook (2) garlic and ginger 30sec. Add (3), heat for 1 minute.

Add Beef (1) and (4), cook for 3 minutes.

Add 2 cups water, simmer for 2-2.5hours until tender.

Optional additions: 1 lb. daikon (it is good the day of but smells like fart the next day (normal) - attributed to the sulfur compounds it contains). Also, some restaurants adds some chinese celery and it taste good. Chinese celery does not taste the same as the regular celery.
